Our Story

It Started With a Realisation…

We didn’t speak the language.
And we didn’t want that for our children.

The Truth We Faced

Like many in the diaspora, we grew up connected to our culture — but not fully connected to our language.

We understood pieces.
We heard it at family gatherings.

But we couldn’t confidently speak it.

And that realisation stayed with us.

Because we didn’t want the story to repeat itself.

Breaking the Cycle

We asked ourselves:

What if learning African languages didn’t feel intimidating?
What if it felt fun?
What if it started early — before doubt, before hesitation?

We knew one thing for sure: Young children learn best through play.

Not pressure.
Not memorisation.
Not screens.

Through laughter. Through repetition. Through everyday moments.
So we set out to create something we wished we had.

What Was Missing

There were apps.
There were books.
There were screens everywhere.

But there weren’t many modern, fun tools designed to help diaspora families reconnect their children to African languages in a simple, playful way.

So we built one.

Built With Purpose

Our audio flashcards and readable learning device were designed for little hands and growing minds.

We focused on:

  • Clear, beautiful pronunciation
  • Bright, bold design
  • Screen-free learning
  • Easy interaction
  • Words that matter to families

Every feature is intentional.

Because when children hear and repeat words early — especially before age four — language becomes natural.

Not something to “learn later.”
But something they grow up with

Why It Matters

Language is more than communication.

It is identity.
It is heritage.
It is connection.

It is hearing your grandparents’ stories and understanding them.

As diasporians, many of us carry pride in our roots — but also regret for what we didn’t fully receive.

We created this so the next generation doesn’t have to feel that gap.

So they grow up confident.
So they speak without hesitation.
So culture feels alive, not distant.

More than a product

This isn’t just a device.

It’s a child proudly saying a word you struggled to say.
It’s laughter during playtime.
It’s confidence growing in small voices.

And this time, the story continues.
